The Workshop Biology project was funded by FIPSE and NSF to provide resources and support to others wanting to improve their current curriculum and teaching methods, or to develop new courses. Although our grant is no longer active, we are still anxious to find out what others are doing that is effective, and to help disseminate this. Our aim is to support two-way collaboration among biology faculty and the development of a common knowledge base about effective biology teaching. You can participate on a variety of levels:

1. Use the resources available on this WWW site and those you can download and/or request via our email form (lab activities, course design suggestions, assessment tools), following our sample plan for developing a new course, or just using individual elements in courses you already offer.

2. Call or email us - we can talk over the phone, or (if you're in Oregon or Washington), we can arrange a visit. Let us know what you're doing!

3. Contact one of our other project participants. Check out the project proposals that were done at our summer workshop this year - any of these people would be interested in a new collaborator, or in sharing the materials they develop.
