Welcome to the new and improved Equestrian Team web site!  We will be making changes and additions over the next few months so please bear with us.

Mission Statement:

     "Provide a fun, welcoming opportunity for you to continue, or start, your equestrian career, meet new friends, and make the most of your college experience here at the University of Oregon!"

Goals:  

• To become the competitive leader in our region while maintaining a high level of team affinity and support.

Competition:

·      We are a University of Oregon Club Sports team. 

·      We show under the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) www.ihsainc.com.

·      We compete against Linn Benton Community College, Oregon State University, Portland State University, Seattle Pacific University, University of Washington, Washington State University, and Western Washington University.

·      We do not ride our own horses at shows or use our own tack.  The host team provides the horses and tack.  Horses are drawn at random before each class.  Riders are not allowed a warm-up. 

·      There are 5 weekend shows in the fall and 5 weekend shows in the winter. 

·      Classes include:  jumping, english equitation, reining, western equitation.  Each discipline is divided into levels ranging from walk/trot to open.

·      Regional, Zones and Nationals are held in the spring and are the only shows that may require a day or two away from school (most teachers will excuse these absences).
