Chairmans Letter:
Dear Members and Supporters,

The University of Oregon College Republicans have a new vision for this year - a grand vision. We want to push the envelope and make a bigger and better name for ourselves as Republicans on campus. We want to bolster our roster by recruiting new members. We want to make our presence known so that our liberal student body doesn’t feel so safe and secure. In essence, we want to force our campus to deal with reality -- the University of Oregon does have conservative students on campus, and liberal propaganda does not work on us.

Already this year we have made a strong stand and have dug our heels in deep, preparing for the long fight for. We’ve made sure that potential members can find us by having recruitment tables set up on campus as often as possible. When the Democratic candidates came to the University of Oregon on October 30th, we were there, letting them know they would not get any support from us. Besides just being on campus, members have been out helping Republican candidates such as Jim Feldkamp, Ron Saxton, Jim Torrey, Bill Eddie and of course myself. Now as campaign season nears its end, we will soon see the fruits of our labor and move on to more campus activities. We have plans in the works to counter the Pro Choice movement, the Anti-Gun organizations and the special interests groups funded through the University. We will show the leftists on campus that free speech is a right for all Americans, not just a chosen few.

We will do our best to inform the students of an alternative political persuasion, one they are not used to seeing from their everyday peers or their professors. We will support other conservative students and offer them a safe place to enjoy the company of people who share similar views and values.

This is going to be a fun and exciting year. We plan on hosting our first annual “Freedom Ball” to help support the brave men and women in the armed services. We will be attending the Dorchester conference in Seaside and will be bringing a well-known speaker to campus this spring, all of which we could not do without your help! Thank you for your support of the University of Oregon College Republicans and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Andrew D. Hill
