Information on the Faculty Advisory Council


The Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) consists of eleven voting faculty members, 4 from CAS, 4 from the professional schools and colleges, 2 officers of administration, and the University Senate president, ex-officio. These faculty members serve as an advisory group to the president of the university, representing the voice and concern of the faculty units deliberations with the president.  Persons nominated to serve must be members of the voting faculty and on campus during the term of office. The following administrators are ineligible to serve on this committee: the president; the provost; vice presidents; vice provosts; associate or assistant vice provosts; associate or assistant  vice presidents; deans; and associate deans or their equivalent. No person may serve simultaneously on the FAC and FPC. The term of office is June 16, 2002 - June 15, 2004.

ELIGIBILITY - College of Arts and Sciences: No two persons from the same department may serve at the same time. Thus, no person from Geography or English may be nominated this year.

ELIGIBILITY - Professional Schools and Colleges: No two persons from the same professional school or college may serve at the same time. Thus, no person from AAA or Journalism and Communication may be nominated this year.

ELIGIBILITY - Officers of Administration: No two persons from the same academic or administrative unit may serve at the same time.  Thus, no person from Admissions may be nominated this year.

The secretary of the faculty is authorized and instructed to exclude from the ballot any nominated persons who are ineligible for membership under the rules of the faculty. The Committee on Committees and secretary, with help from the senate, will fill out the ballot if an insufficient number of nominees is received.
