Subject: Appointment as
Senate Webmaster for 2009/10
MEMO FROM: Peter B Gilkey (UO Senate President)
Dear Peter:
It is always a bit odd to have to write a letter to oneself, but it
is important to document things one supposes. Please post and link
this letter from the Senate Website as appropriate
This is just to appoint you as UO Senate Webmaster for 2009/10
pursuant to the terms outlined by Andrew Marcus according to the
attached PDF file . This appointment is traditionally made by the
President of the UOSenate and then copied to the Secretary of the
Senate and to the President of the University to afford them an
opportunity to object should they so choose since the Senate
Webmaster also serves at the pleasure of the Secretary of the Senate
and at the pleasure of the President of the University. However their
silence in this regard has been interpreted in the past as giving
consent.
Please continue to provide electronic hard copies in CD/DVD format on
a periodic basis to the University Archivist and the Secretary of the
Senate for archival backup purposes of the materials on these websites.
You are the only webmaster that the UO Assembly and the UO Senate
have ever had and I am grateful that you are willing to continue your
service during academic 2009/10. You are reminded that your present
appointment expires at midnight 15 June 2010 and that the incoming
Senate President is free either to ask you to continue or, with the
concurence of the Secretary of the Senate and the President of the
University, to appoint another webmaster or change the structures
appropriately.
Respectfully submitted
Peter B Gilkey
