US09/10-13 Senate procedure upon resignation of the Senate President

MOVED:
In the event that the office of the President becomes vacant, the Vice President will assume the office of the President and will retain the title of the President-Elect. In the event that the Vice President resigns, he/she may not serve as the President-Elect.

BACKGROUND:
This motion is necessary to amend the Senate Bylaws in light of Professor Nathan Tublitz, as the formal Vice President, assuming the rule of the President and claiming the title of President-Elect contrary to the Article 4.3 which states that the Vice President also serves the President-Elect.

This motion has no significant financial impact.
