US09/10-16a - Report of Conflict of Commitment Working Group

Adopted by the Senate:    April 14, 2010.

Motion: The University Senate accepts the Report of of the Joint Academic Affairs/Senate Conflict of Commitment Working Group, and approves it as the basis for revisions in university policy on conflict of commitment; and that members of the Joint Academic Affairs/Senate Conflict of Commitment Working Group should review the upcoming revised UO Policy Statement 3.095 after it is written by the UO Office of Academic Affairs and present their findings to the University Senate at the same Senate meeting at which the policy statement is brought forward for discussion and adoption.

Background: The Joint Academic Affairs/Senate Conflict of Commitment Working Group has presented to the University Senate and Senior Vice Provost its Report on conflict of interest and conflict of commitment; the report was prepared with the participation of members appointed by the President of the University Senate and with ample opportunity for faculty comments.

This motion has no financial impact.
