Agenda for Senate Executive Meeting 26 April 2000
-
Brief dscussion of the agenda
for the 24 May meeting.
-
Discussion of US9900-11A. This is a technical
motion to rewrite the legislation on the DSA. Gwen Steigelman spotted some
mistakes in the motion that came from the DSA committee. I want the permission
of EXCOM to replace the original US9900-11
by US9900-11A at the meeting of the
Senate. I also want EXCOM to take look at the motion to ensure we have
fixed all the "bugs". I will then inform the DSA and absent objections
to the contrary proceed with US9900-11A at
the Senate Meeting in May.
-
I will be presenting US9900-11A to the Senate on behalf of the DSA as Dave
Hubin can not attend the May meeting of the Senate. I am going to ask Senator
Grzybowski to preside over the Senate during the debate and vote on this
motion.
-
I will be presenting the names of the 3 DSA nominees to the Senate subsequently.
I am going to ask Jim Earl to preside over the Senate during the debate
and vote on these 3 names.
-
Discussion of motion US9900-16. At present,
as Senate President, I am ruling that the motion as presently stated is
not within the pervue of the UO Senate and thus the motion is not appropriate
for presentation to the UO Senate. We need to discuss this matter.
-
Nathan Tublitz has suggested that we have a brief discussion regarding
implementation of motion US9900-10B (...Membership
would be for one year, with the option to renew for subsequent years, based
on the recommendation of a University Senate oversight committee established
to review our membership on an annual basis.)
-
Discussion of motions US9900-15 (A, B, and
C) regarding committee structures.
-
Other business such as may need to come before the Executive Committee.
