  3. Discussion of the Agenda for the December meeting 1 December 1999.
  4. John Leahy leahy@darkwing.uoregon.edu of the IAC wishes has brought questions regarding that committee the President of the Senate - see attachment Letter9. The Senate President recommends Professor Paris (Representative of the Senate on the IAC) be requested to look into the matter.
  5. Possible report by Senate Vice President James Earl jwearl@oregon.uoregon.edu concerning the issue of Senate Education Benefits. Vice President Earl is not presently scheduled to report to the full senate about this matter.
  6. Possible report by Senator Greg McLauchlan gmclauch@oregon.uoregon.edu concerning the poll on future agenda items for the UO Senate. Senator McLaughlan is scheduled at present to report to the full Senate Wednesday 10 November 1999
  7. Possible report by Senator Nathan Tublitz tublitz@uoneuro.uoregon.edu on the activities of the Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Committee reporting structures.

Informational Items

  1. Professors Mike Kellman and David Frank have been appointed to the Senate Budget Committee. Professors Laura Alpert, Suzanne Clark, and Ann Tedards were asked to serve but have declined. The committee is meeting frequently with the Provost.
  2. The President of the Senate in consultation with the Senate Executive Committee has delayed implementation of Senate resolution US97/98-10 regarding Course evaluations until Spring 2000
  3. The President of the Senate in consultation with the Senate Executive Committee has recommended that Professor Helen Gernon be appointed to fill a vacancy on PTRAC Correspondence
  4. The President of the Senate briefed the Student Senate concerning the way to increase Student Representation on the Senate. See Summary
  5. The President of the Senate has asked the Senate Nominating Committee to recommend two people to fill vacancies on Committees on Committees caused by the resignations of Mike Hibbard (Public Policy and Management Planning) and Leslie Harris (Law). See Letters from Kathy Wagner. The President of the Senate has also requested the Senate Nominating Committee find suitable candidates to run for the IFS positions. Professor Southwell has agreed to run for the position of alternate.
  6. The President of the Senate, at the request of Student Senate President Jessica Timpany, has appointed Senator Jereme Grzybowski as the student member on the Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Committee reporting structures. The Senate President acting at the request of Committee Chair Senator Tublitz has appointed Ann Tedards to this committee.
