The following email sent to Senate President Peter Gilkey gilkey@darkwing.uoregon.edu by Chair of the Senate Rules Committee Jim Schombert js@abyss.uoregon.edu Monday November 1 1999. It deals with Motion USS99/00-3 To amend the "mission" and "jurisdiction" of the Student Conduct Code.

Motion USS99/00-3

The motion is properly phrased and submitted. There is no procedural errors in its format. Since committees and personal are already in place for the current conduct process, the fiscal impact is minor. The new code expands the definition of individuals who are subject to the code violations, and, potentially, implies a larger flux and more committee work. On the other hand, there may be a fiscal savings if the new conduct code clarifies the process and produces a timesavings aspect. Our opinion is that the net change is very small.
