The students in this section of Math 241 will use Microsoft Excel as a technological aid. There will be several Excel-based lab assignments over the term, which you will download from Blackboard. A brief introduction to Excel will be featured in the first discussion section. During that class you will be introduced to those parts of Excel that will be used in the first assignment. All discussion sections will meet in the ITC classroom (room 267B) in the Knight Library.
Students in this section of Math 241 will take a Calculus Preparedness Quiz during the first 10 days of the term. The quiz will cover material from the UO courses Intermediate and College Algebra. It will be available on my Blackboard web site. If you are enrolled in this course you may want to take the quiz as early as possible. Go to http://blackboard.uoregon.edu/ and log in with your uoregon.edu username and password. Students receiving a grade of 80% or more on the quiz will receive extra credits points in the course.
