What previous interns say:

"I have learned so much about the world around me, and the ways to change it, but more importantly I have learned so much about myself."

"SWAT has been by far my favorite class in college and has challenged me in more diverse ways than any other class."

"The triumph I am most proud of thus far has been discovering a new passion I hadn't known existed. I am passionate about starting discussions with people about this crucial message. Creating a safe space for open and honest discussions is so fulfilling."

"(Through SWAT) I have started to see sexual assault in terms of its social context rather than just the statistics and facts, and I am becoming more aware of the cultural conditions that have encouraged the continuation and even expansion of this horrific crime."

"By doing this kind of work, I've been impacted for the better. I say this because now am a more educated person who is able to speak more effectively with others regarding an issue as serious as sexual assault. . . All in all, the challenges, triumphs, and learning experience have made SWAT an exciting, educational, and mind-opening experience."

"Being in SWAT has allowed me to find the courage to speak my mind."

"SWAT is by far my favorite class that I have taken at the University of Oregon... I feel like every time I go to class, I grow as a person. I learn so much every week, and even though I may walk out feeling a little heavy-hearted, I think the knowledge is worth it."

Due to the complexities of the material, and extensive training, we ask for a three term commitment from interns. Complete the application and return it ASAP. Applications will be screened by a hiring committee made up of program staff and current SWAT members. The hiring committee will ask selected applicants to interview

Class meets Wednesdays from 6-9pm throughout each term.
