Google has a new web page publishing service (free, & no advertising, at least in beta). Note that this is not a blog, it is a page/site publishing service. There's a lot of demand for it so you might need to get in line. Here is a start up page I roughed out, grabbing some links & images from this blog & elsewhere. Very easy, even the image upload procedure. The tradeoffs are in flexibility. There are a lot of different design & layout options; not great, but the simple versions aren't terrible... similar to blogger's various templates.
