So you wanna learn about energy? Here are some great resources on the web:

  • Classroom Energy!
    • A broad look what energy is, how it is used, and some of the different energy sources used by our society. This website even includes an interactive quiz to test your energy knowledge!
  • Energy Information Administration Kids Page
    • A great page to learn about specific energy resources. Broken down into non-renewable and renewable resources, this page gives a detailed look at many forms of energy, as well as electricity basics and information about hydrogen and its potential uses.
  • Exploratorium Science Snacks
    • This website is a resource for different science projects for kids, from A-Z. "Solar Brightness" and "Short Circuit" are two especially relevant experiments dealing with energy and electricity.
  • Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Kids Page
    • A great source for information about renewable energy; included are wind energy, geothermal energy, and solar energy, as well as alternative fuels and general information about renewable energy. The Energy Efficiency Tips at this site are an important resource for kids and adults alike who want to help the environment.
  • Captain Planet web site
    • The "Conservation Superhero" activity in our curriculum took us all back to our days of watching Captain Planet cartoons; this site has great links about the environment, and also a energy conservation game!
